Chenango-Hills Dairy Goats breeds and raises only high quality Nigerian Dwarfs. David Funk and Karen Canfield, owners, are retired teachers whose farm is west of Albany, in Howes Cave, NY, near the famous Howes Caverns. There they raise and care for their small highly select herd.

At the 17th SUPER BUCK EXTRAVAGANZA on May 5th, *B Chenango-Hills Prince Valiant won GCH in two rings and RGCH in one.

In results in spring 2012, Chenango-Hills IP Goddess is AGS Breed Leader AGAIN, 1st in milk, fat, and protein, with 1431 lbs of milk, 106 lbs fat, and 65 lbs protein. Chenango-Hills Bouncey Trixie finished 5th in milk and tied for 3rd in protein respectively, with 1223 lbs of milk, and 54 lbs protein.

GCH Chenango-Hills Goddess led the nation for ADGA registered Nigerians in milk, butterfat and protein on DHIA test in results released in 2010. Chenango-Hills Unique, her 1/2 sister,was close behind, placing fourth in milk and second in butterfat and protein. In the AGS results released in spring of 2011,Goddess was second in milk and Breed Leader in fat and protein.

Four CHENANGO-HILLS does made the Top Ten for AGS in the results released in 2011; taking 4 of the top 5 spots (including 1st) in both fat and protein, as well as 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th in milk.

They also all placed in the ADGA Top Ten for 2011.

Sire, *B Chenango Hills Tom Thumb, (Ariel xRosasharn's C H Uproar, twin brother to Goddess), Dam, Rosasharn G X Sweet Pea 5*D, a Gorda daughter by Rosasharn's buck Galaxy, an Eclipse son. Trixie inherited an exceptionally fine mammary system from her dam, who has an outstanding udder.She freshened at 4.6 lbs per day in 2008; 4.8 in 2009, 5.8 in 2010. She finished with 738m., 51f., 38p., in only 240 days in 2009,hersecond lactation.

Her 2010 lactation record was: 2-11 290d 1143m, 75f, 54p.This record put her in the Top Ten that year for milk, fat, and protein. She was 7th in milk, 5th in fat, and 5th in protein. Given her size (17 5/8") an exceptional performance.

A smaller doe than Goddess and Unique, indeed the smallest mature doe we've had in the herd, she has our most stylish mammary. She is exceptionally productive for her size, and made her star first lactation, starting at 1-02, to become a 6* D. She freshened May 30, 2009 with beautiful vigorous triplet does for the second year in a row and gave us 2 does and a buck in 2010. (8 does and a buck in 3 freshening !!!!)And she followed that with 2 does and 2 bucks in 2011!

In 2009, she was Reserve GCH to Goddess at Cobleskill,and was Grand Champion, BOB and best udder at Altamont show #1, RGCH to Goddess at Altamont show #2. In 2010 she was Reserve Grand at the Altamont Spring shows, at Ballston Spa, and the first Altamont fair show; GCH at Cobleskill August 1st. and GCH, BOB and Best Udder at Altamont show #2 August 22nd, finishing her GCH.In 2011she was BOB and best uddered at Cobleskill, and again at both Altamont shows, besting all entries, including Goddess and Gabriella in the Challenge class each time.

In AGS DHIA results released in Spring 2012, Trixie repeated in the TOP TEN, placing 5th in milk with 1223 lbs, and tied for 3rd in protein, with 54 lbs. Fourth lactation record, 3-11 291 da. 1223 m. 60 f (4.9%) 54 p (4.4%).

First test day, 2012-2013 lactation, her 5th, 5.5 lbs of milk.

Bred to *B Chenango-Hills Uncas, the "Unique" son, she freshened April 5 with two beautiful does and two long bodied powerful buck kids..

Her paternal grand dam, Gorda, was a breed leader for protein with a LA of 90; (Einmammary). And we know what her dam,Goddess, is. She is really super!

Fashion's daughter sired by Chenango-Hills Horus, an exceptionally long bodied, powerful doeling, yellow-gold with white markings. She freshened April 18 with a beautiful udder. She had two does and two bucks sired by Prince Valiant. Shown 5X in 2010-- 4X first, once JrCH, once RJrCH, 1Xthird.

She was 2nd place milking yearling at Cobleskill, and 1st place milking yearlingat both Altamont shows in 2011.

First Lactation, ended January 20, 2012: 0-11 277 da. 696 m. 43 f (6.2%), 34 p (5.35%), having earned her star for milk, fat and protein in a lactation starting before one year of age!

Chenango-Hills Phoebe

A GCH Chenango-Hills Gabriella, (a Top Ten doe on DHIA)daughter, marked and colored like her dam, sired by *S Doe-Sy-Does FS Fireblaze, she is exceptionally correct in rear leg set, and very wide and deep throughout.

She was 1st place sr kid and Res Jr Champion at the 1st Altamont Fair show.

She has developed a very shapely and capacious udder. She kidded with 2 does and a buck, sired by Prince Valiant.

First DHIA test as an 11 mo old first freshener, 4.2 lbs of milk.

A GCH Chenango-Hills Trixie daughter, basically black with a white splash on one side, Lilli has super legs, nearly ideal General appearence and strong Dairy character. She is sired by Rosasharn BB Tom Bombadil, son of 2010 National Champion, Haiku.

1st place intermediate kid, Cobleskill fair 2011.

3rd Intermediate kid at the second Altamont fair show.

KIDDED with a very correct single buck kid sired by *B Chenango-Hills Prince Valiant.

She has a shapely udder with well placed teats, a good medial and notably desireable length of teat.

Her first DHIA test, at 11mo,when only 7 days fresh, she produced 3.1 lbs milk.
